Senior Technical Staff – Rail Safety (Safety Department) | CP

Location: Lisbon – Rossio, with any necessary travel to carry out the role.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Technician to join the Safety Department, focusing on incident analysis, monitoring safety indicators and assessing risks associated with railway operations. The role also involves defining improvement measures and promoting traffic safety.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Analyse incidents, compile safety indicators and monitor them;
  • Participate in the processes of identifying hazards and assessing operational risks, proposing control and improvement measures;
  • Carry out risk analyses following changes to the railway system;
  • Collaborate in the processes of classifying the risks associated with incidents;
  • Process and analyse data relating to risk levels;
  • Carry out awareness-raising and training activities in the field of traffic safety;
  • Take part in monitoring activities (technical safety inspections, incident assessment).

 

Mandatory Requirements

  • A degree in Engineering, completed by the application deadline.

 

Skills

  • A Master’s degree in Engineering (preferred);
  • Training related to safety management, risk management, quality and/or the environment (preferred);
  • Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, including hazard identification, risk analysis and assessment, the definition and implementation of control measures, and the evaluation of their effectiveness (preferred);
  • Knowledge of Management Systems (preferred);
  • Good command of English (spoken and written) (preferred);
  • Good knowledge of Spanish (spoken and written) (preferred);
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, namely Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint;
  • Ability to analyse, synthesise and pay attention to detail;
  • Planning, organisation, autonomy and proactivity;
  • Sense of responsibility, commitment and rigour in execution;
  • Good verbal communication skills (spoken and written);
  • Interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a team and collaborate in multidisciplinary contexts;
  • Openness to sharing knowledge and constructively incorporating feedback;
  • Attitudes and behaviours guided by high standards of ethics, rigour and loyalty.
