Environmental noise

Decree-Law No. 9/2007 of 17 January 2007, regulates environmental noise in Portugal to safeguard human health and people's well-being. It contains several provisions relating to municipal planning, limits for exposure to environmental noise and other rules that certain sources of noise must comply with. 

Under this legislation, CP, using an accredited testing laboratory, carried out environmental noise assessments at its Industrial Complexes and Stockyards in 2024. All the sites that were assessed, complied with the annoyance criterion of Article 13(b)(1) for permanent noise activities.
