CP – Comboios de Portugal is supporting the “Deconstructing Autism” event dedicated to raising awareness, encouraging reflection and promoting the inclusion of people on the autism spectrum, which will take place on 16 April at the Amarante Cine-Teatro.
As part of “Blue April”, the international autism awareness month, this event is organised by the Municipality of Amarante, in partnership with the Intermunicipal Community of Tâmega and Sousa and ISCTE – CIES, bringing together experts, professionals, families and the community in an innovative, participatory format.
The event offers an immersive approach, featuring themed panels and TED Talks, fostering dialogue across different fields of knowledge and society to contribute to a greater understanding of autism, combat stigma, and reinforce more inclusive practices.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, and in particular its Health Promotion pillar, CP supports this event, which aligns with the company’s values of well-being, inclusion and equal opportunities, contributing to more informed, aware and supportive communities.
Participation in the event is free of charge, subject to mandatory registration, due to limited capacity.
You can register on the BOL platform:

CP – Comboios de Portugal is joining forces with the Crohn’s and Colitis Association of Portugal for the 2026 National Awareness Campaign for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD), which runs throughout May, as part of its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and to promoting a more informed, empathetic and inclusive society.
In Portugal, it is estimated that over 25,000 people live with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis. These chronic conditions, which are often invisible, have a significant impact on the personal, professional and social lives of those affected. For many people, the path to diagnosis is long and fraught with uncertainty, with challenges persisting even after diagnosis, particularly regarding access to healthcare, social stigma and adapting to daily life.
It is in this context that the campaign plays a central role, seeking to raise public awareness, promote early diagnosis and reinforce the importance of a more informed and supportive community.
As a socially responsible organisation, CP supports this initiative by promoting the campaign on its trains, helping to raise the profile of these diseases and to raise awareness amongst thousands of passengers across the country.
Because understanding is the first step towards supporting. And supporting can make all the difference.
CP calls on everyone to get involved in this cause.

Casas Acreditar opens its doors to more than 200 families of children and young people with cancer every year, who have to leave their homes to undergo treatment in Porto, Coimbra or Lisbon. If these houses did not exist, many families would be subject to frequent, long journeys, unnecessary hospital admissions, or staying in precarious conditions.
Located next to hospitals, the Casas Acreditar offer accommodation, helping families reorganise and normalise their daily lives. They are organised so that families can, in the face of their new reality, structure their lives as harmoniously as possible.
The possibility of a more normal life is crucial to help them cope with long absences from home and to promote a spirit of mutual help and emotional support among the various families in the Houses.
That is why this year's Christmas campaign slogan is ‘Help us continue to be a Home’. At this time of year, your donation is the best gift.

“Violence takes many forms. Silence cannot be one of them.”
Violence is not always visible - but it can be felt in fear, silence, and isolation.
This SEIES campaign, supported by CP, reminds us that violence is not only visible marks, but also gestures, words, and silences.
For over 45 years, SEIES has been working for equality and against all forms of violence.
CP strongly believes that public spaces should be places of safety, empathy, and social responsibility.
Because violence cannot continue to travel with us - not in our homes, not on the streets, not on the rails. And because silence can never be the answer.

The gift that can change millions of lives in Chad.
1 gift, 2 million futures.
This is the gift that multiplies gifts - that changes lives, that gives more future.
Chad is home to more than 2 million refugees and displaced people - 1 in 3 inhabitants in the east of the country is a refugee.
Among them are thousands of women and children.
But only 20% of children are in school.
- A family survives with only 10 liters of water per day.
- There is only 1 doctor for every 52,000 refugees.
- And only 30% of the needs for 2025 are funded.
Without help, thousands are left without access to shelter, water, food, health, education and protection.
CP is joining the Family Fostering Campaign, raising awareness of the importance of providing children and young people with a safe family environment. As part of its Social Responsibility, CP is publicising this initiative through videos on its Alfa Pendular trains, posters on trains, the institutional website and internal communication.
This initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security in partnership with the three managing bodies of the foster care system - the Social Security Institute, Casa Pia de Lisboa and Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, aims to raise awareness and inform society and attract potential candidates for foster families, strengthening this support network for children and young people who need a safe and structured family environment.
Foster care is a promotion and protection measure decided by a Child and Youth Protection Commission or a court, in which children and young people in danger are temporarily entrusted to a duly certified foster family, where they can integrate into a family environment, essential to their development and well-being.
Foster care is more than a social response; it is a commitment of love and solidarity made by foster families, who become an essential support in promoting the rights and protection of these children and young people, complementing state intervention.
International experience reinforces the need for ongoing campaigns that raise public awareness of foster care, ensuring that the number of families available to foster children is renewed and expanded. The current national campaign is therefore a concerted action, involving various institutions to reach both the general public and specific target audiences. It aims to promote a more comprehensive and effective foster care network.

Support Animais de Rua
CP - Comboios de Portugal is committed to its Social Responsibility by actively supporting the animal cause. We believe that the protection and welfare of animals are essential for a fairer and more sustainable society.
CP supports initiatives that promote responsible adoption, combat animals being abandonned and raise awareness of animal rights.
We invite everyone to join this campaign by Animais de Rua.
Animais de Rua is a non-profit association set up in 2008 to improve the living conditions of homeless animals through sterilisation, monitoring and medical treatment, feeding and promoting the responsible adoption of docile animals.
There are several areas of operation across the country - Porto, Vila Nova de Gaia, Matosinhos, Maia, Gondomar, Esposende, Vila do Conde, Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais, Amadora, São Miguel (Azores), Vila Nova de Foz Côa, Alcácer do Sal, Benavente and Palmela - and this association's work focuses on implementing and managing a stray animal sterilisation programme, in partnership with municipalities and cat colony carers, using the CSD method (Capture-Sterilise-Devolve).
At the same time, they run an adoption programme for docile animals that are waiting for their final families while they live in Temporary Foster Homes; they raise awareness among children and young people through an Educational Programme; they run information campaigns, awareness-raising actions and provide training in the area of animal welfare.
So far, Animais de Rua has helped more than 58,000 animals and is counting on your help to increase this number.
