Senior Technician – Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Technician for the Maintenance and Engineering Department with in-depth knowledge of rolling stock and the railway regulatory framework to assist in the design, analysis, and monitoring of technical projects.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct studies and prepare technical specifications and tender documents for the acquisition, modernisation or refurbishment of rolling stock or its systems, managing them technically until their final acceptance;
  • Participate in the analysis and design of technical modifications to rolling stock;
  • Analyse, verify and approve technical documentation associated with new and modernised rolling stock or its equipment and systems;
  • Monitor and supervise the development of manufacturing and/or modification processes by carrying out/participating in inspections, audits and tests of equipment and vehicles to say their performance and compliance with applicable requirements;
  • Collaborate in the certification and authorisation processes for rolling stock in accordance with the provisions of the applicable European Regulations.

 

Mandatory Requirements

  • Higher education degree in Mechanical Engineering, complemented by a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

 

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of rolling stock, its operating systems and the regulations and technical standards of the railway sector;
  • Knowledge in the area of Mechanical Design using automatic calculation;
  • Computer skills in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word and PowerPoint);
  • Good knowledge of English (spoken and written);
  • Ability to think critically, synthesise information and pay attention to detail;
  • Initiative and proactivity;
  • Good organisational skills, combined with a strong focus on quality and safety;
  • Ability to adapt to new situations and new working methods;
  • High sense of responsibility;
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills;
  • Attitude and behaviour guided by high standards of ethics, rigour and loyalty;
  • Category B driving licence;
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.

Selection Process

The selection process may include a psychological assessment, a technical knowledge test, and an interview. The selection stages are eliminatory.

Admission is subject to physical fitness for the role, as assessed by a medical examination.
