You can use the ticket on any route on the Sintra, Azambuja, Cascais and Sado lines as long as the journey takes place within the number of zones purchased.
For example, with a 1-zone ticket you can travel between Sintra and Algueirão, Cascais and Estoril, Azambuja and Carregado or Praias Sado-A and Palmela.
In the case of stations on the border between zones, you only pay 1 zone for your ticket or pass, but you can only travel between these neighbouring stations.
For example, for a journey between Mercês and Rio de Mouro stations (adjoining stations in two different zones), you must buy a 1-zone ticket. If you want to go to another station in the Mercês or Rio de Mouro area, you pay for two zones, so you can travel to the border stations of these areas: Sintra and Massamá-Barcarena.
The pass covers a fixed route. The route is valid up to the zone limit. (Example: if you buy a pass for the Cacém/Amadora route, the limit will be Rio de Mouro - Santa Cruz Damaia (2 zones).
