Unforgettable journeys through the paths of the past.

Tagus Vintage Train

Travel on the famous Schindler carriages with panoramic windows.

Take the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Ribatejo marshlands and the riverside route of the Beira Baixa Line, especially the section between Entroncamento and Vila Velha de Ródão, where you can admire Almourol Castle and the Portas de Ródão Natural Monument. Portas do Rodão is part of the Naturtejo Geopark, which is part of UNESCO's network of world geoparks.

If you prefer, you can travel to Entroncamento and take a guided tour of the Railway Neighbourhoods and the National Railway Museum, with one of the best collections of railway heritage in Europe - around 36,000 artefacts.

The National Railway Museum contains more than 165 years of railway history in Portugal.

We propose a journey through time, from the first steam locomotives to the railway transport of the future, with highlights including the Royal Train, the Steam Roundabout and the museum's entire train collection, as well as the chance to travel on board the mini-train.

The programme includes a guided tour of the Railway Quarter (Bairro do Boneco, Bairro Vila Verde and Bairro Camões). When you buy a ticket to the Museum, CP passengers are offered this visit.
