CP partners with the Eduardo Zúquete Award
Applications are open until 30 September 2026.
CP is one of the partners of the Eduardo Zúquete Award, which recognises outstanding work and projects in mobility, transport and spatial planning that have a positive impact on sustainability and territorial cohesion. The award pays tribute to Eduardo Zúquete, a leading figure in transport planning in Portugal, whose professional, academic, scientific and civic career was marked by an integrated and long-term vision of mobility, particularly in the rail sector.
GEOTA – the Group for Studies on Spatial Planning and the Environment organises the initiative in partnership with ADFERSIT, CENSE-FCT, AAACM, the National Railway Museum Foundation, CP and APAC – the Portuguese Association of Friends of the Railways.
In the 2026 edition, the Eduardo Zúquete Award comprises two categories:
- Academic studies or projects, with a prize of €1,000;
- Works and projects implemented in the field, also with a prize of €1,000.
Researchers, professionals, organisations, teams, or members of the public who work in the fields of spatial planning, mobility, and transport may apply, focusing on sustainable, inclusive, and innovative approaches, as well as on the link between academic research, professional practice, and public policy.
Applications are open until 30 September 2026 at 11:59 p.m., and applicants must submit them in accordance with the conditions set out in the award regulations.
The Eduardo Zúquete Award will be presented at a public ceremony to be announced.
