Civil Engineer/Architect – Sales and Operational Spaces (Asset and Works Department)

About the Role

We are looking for a Civil Engineer or Architect to join the Assets and Works Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the need for works in CP’s sales and operational premises, managing maintenance contracts and drawing up tender specifications, thereby contributing to the effective management and maintenance of assets.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Carry out surveys to identify works required at premises, including the identification of structural defects, photographic reports, structural characterisation of properties and the submission of proposals to resolve defects;
  • Produce photographic reports on the condition of premises, to document and assess corrective measures in sales and operational spaces, primarily at stations on the National Railway Network;
  • Monitor and manage preventive and/or corrective maintenance contracts, acting as Contract Manager, ensuring compliance with contractual clauses, the quality of services provided and adherence to technical and safety standards;
  • Draw up work schedules, carry out measurements and prepare cost estimates for construction works, using market prices for each type of construction work as a reference;
  • Draw up technical specifications for tender documents for the procurement of services, goods, and works contracts, with a focus on optimised construction solutions that reduce maintenance costs throughout the assets’ life cycle.

 

Mandatory Requirements

Candidates must have a degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture by the application deadline.

 

Preferred Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, preferably specialising in Construction, or, alternatively, a Master’s degree in Architecture;
  • Professional experience in the field of building maintenance and refurbishment (at least three years);
  • Experience in building management using maintenance platforms and Artificial Intelligence tools;
  • Strong IT skills from a user’s perspective, particularly in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Copilot) and AutoCAD, amongst others;
  • Good command of English (spoken and written);
  • Driving licence.
