Beira Baixa line – Train operations and replacement bus service

Starting 16 March

Following the adverse weather conditions experienced in February and the resulting damage to the railway infrastructure, train services on the Beira Baixa Line have been partially suspended.

Whilst track repair work is underway, a replacement bus service will operate for Intercidades services between Abrantes and Guarda, as well as for Regional services between Mouriscas A and Vila Velha de Ródão.

Regional trains run between Entroncamento and Mouriscas A and between Vila Velha de Ródão and Castelo Branco, whilst Intercidades trains run between Lisbon Santa Apolónia and Abrantes.

Journey times may vary On the replacement bus servicedepending on weather and traffic conditions.

The replacement bus service cannot carry wheelchairs, bicycles or scooters. Small pets can be taken if they are in an appropriate container that can be carried as hand luggage.

Group tickets are not accepted on the replacement coach service.
