This App lets you get your Alfa Pendular or Intercidades and journey supplements on the Regional, InterRegional, Oporto and Coimbra urban trains tickets as much as 60 days in advance or just 15 minutes before the train starts its journey. You have to be registered on myCP to make a purchase. If you are not registered, you can create an account at any time.
Once you have bought your ticket you can see:
All options include the details needed for your journey. The tickets are personal and unalienable and they are only valid for the days and trains mentioned on them.
On board the train, you have to prove your identity using the ID document you mentioned when you bought your ticket. On the Oporto urban trains, you also have to show a printed or digital copy of your ticket. If you have a discount ticket, you must present a valid document granting you that right (if the discount is because of your age you can show an official identification document or a certified copy of it). Otherwise, and in cases where the ticket has been changed or refunded, you are considered to be travelling without a valid ticket and can be fined (Law 28/06 of 4 July).
Passengers who buy tickets to or from Oporto-Campanhã, Coimbra-B and Lisbon Oriente, can use the respective urban trains free of charge to get to Oporto São Bento, Coimbra Cidade, Lisbon Santa Apolónia, Areeiro, Entrecampos and Sete Rios. Passengers travelling between Lisbon and Faro and who start or end their journey at Pinhal Novo station can use the Lisbon urban trains along the entire length of the Sado line.
In these situations, the tickets are only valid for an hour before the main line train leaves and an hours after it arrives.
In the purchase process, you have 15 minutes to conclude your transaction. You must give the type and number of ID document for each passenger, so you can locate your reservations on board.
For tax purposes, the pdf ticket serves as a receipt. If you do not complete the Name/Company name and Tax number fields, the ticket will be issued with “Final Consumer” as the default setting in the tax field. Once the ticket has been issued, in the first 30 minutes after it has been bought and up until 30 minutes before the train leaves from the station where the customer gets on, all the travel conditions can be changed once including altering or correcting the tax number.
The reading of these terms and Conditions supposes you accept them. If you do not agree you can uninstall the CP App at any time.
You can also see the App’s general Terms and Conditions, available in the menu, for further details.

3-D Secure – what changes in online purchases
When you buy a ticket from the CP Online Ticket Office, in the CP site or the App, using Visa or Mastercard, you are making a transaction with 3-D Secure.
The 3-D Secure protocol provides the highest level of security for online shopping since it ensures at the moment of the transaction that you are responsible for the payment and the legitimate holder of the card that is being used in the online purchase.
A bank form appears at the purchase phase where you have to introduce the bank card details and the authentication credentials that only the card holder knows.
Most Portuguese banks send their clients SMS codes so they can authenticate the transaction they are making.
If your bank card is not associated with 3-D Secure, you may find your Visa and Mastercard cards are rejected.
If you want to join and know more about what authentication to use in your online shopping, contact your bank.
If you want to get a refund or alter the name of the ticket holder of tickets bought using the CP App, please check the Terms and Conditions of the Online Ticket Office in the “Buy Tickets” area in cp.pt, since the same rules apply for these operations. If you want to access any of these options you have to access the journey details in “journey history” in myCP, in cp.pt
