CP wins Portugal Digital Awards prize

The award honours innovative and digital transformation projects.

CP is among the companies with the best digital transformation projects in Portugal!

We were honoured at the 8th edition of the Portugal Digital Awards, in the Best Transportation Project category, which distinguishes the best digital transformation project in the Transport Sector. The award for the "Digital Traction Environment" project, which includes new tablet devices for our train drivers, in a process led by Information Systems, was presented yesterday to the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Pedro Moreira, at a ceremony held at Casino Estoril.

"I'm proud to receive this award on behalf of all CP employees. It recognises our teams' capacity for innovation, development, work and audacity, as well as our commitment to digital transformation," he said.

"The project we've developed is a revolution in the way train drivers operate and is, from our perspective, on a par with the best that's being done worldwide," said Pedro Moreira, adding that as well as eliminating thousands of paper documents, this app is a testament to CP's dedication to efficiency, real-time communication and safety.

"Above all, I want to congratulate our workers, the teams who developed this project. This award is for them. We're on the right track" when it comes to innovation, the Chairman of CP added.

The Portugal Digital Awards are a joint initiative between Axians and IDC to publicise the best of Portugal in digital transformation. The aim of the awards is to recognise and reward the excellence of organisations, their teams and business leaders who, with vision and audacity, are leading the digital transformation of their businesses, processes, products or services and, consequently, of society as we know it. This eighth edition had around 300 candidate projects. The ideas were assessed by a jury.

The "Traction Digital Environment" project consists of an integrated solution developed by CP for train drivers, which aims to digitally transform the traction activity. Each employee is assigned a tablet for business use, allowing access to various functions, including CP applications aimed at gaining efficiency and effectiveness in processes: access to documents, notifications, safety regulations, management of working hours, support for driving and tasks associated with rolling stock. This is an innovative solution, involving the use of new resources in an iterative process that is highly dynamic.
