Sustainable management

Sustainable Development means different things to different people. Essentially, however, it is related with the option to respond to people's needs of today without compromising the ability of future generations to respond to their needs.

As such, Sustainable Development involves:

  • An integrated vision of the social, environmental and economic results;
  • A long term view, caring about the interests and rights of future generations as well as the current population;
  • An inclusive action strategy that recognises the need for everyone to be involved in the decisions that affect their lives.
  • Taken from "Route to Success – Marketing and sustainable development, BSCD Portugal – Business Council for Sustainable Development.
