The “Grape Harvest Festival” in Douro, by CP – Comboios de Portugal, returns in September.
On a day fully dedicated to activities related to the wine production process, this programme starts at Oporto Campanhã Station at 08:00, with the boarding of the special train headed towards Pinhão.
Once at Pinhão, the participants continue on to Quinta da Avessada by bus transfer, where they will be welcomed by popular music and the tasting of regional products. The morning activities shall close with explanations about Douro grape varieties, the history of the region and some traditions related to the grape harvest, and the traditional lunch shall follow.
Suggestions for the afternoon include a visit to the mills, a “lagarada” and end with a documented taste of Muscatel in the Enoteca area.
The return to Régua is by bus and the special train to Porto departs at 18:30.
The price of the program for adults in 1st class is 73.50 euros and for children (4-12 years old inclusive) 33.50 euros, while in 2nd class adults pay 69.50 euros and the children 29.50 euros.
