As a result of the successful demand for the Douro Historical Train, which sold out in all the circulations, CP - Comboios de Portugal decided to extend the 2020 campaign for two more Saturdays, particularly on October 3 and 10.
The journey - on board the historical composition of five wooden carriages from the beginning of the 20th century pulled by the steam locomotive – departs from Régua at 3:28 p.m. and arrives at Tua at 4:35 p.m.. On the way back, the train departs from Tua at 5:10 p.m. and arrives at Régua at 6:30 p.m. The stop in Pinhão - in both directions - allows to visit a Wine House of the region.
The capacity offered is 168 seats per journey due to the limitation of two thirds of the total capacity.
Tickets can be bought online with prices ranging from 20.00 Euros for children (from 4 to 12 years) to 42.50 Euros for adults.
At Régua station, before boarding, passengers are greeted with local songs, Port wine and the traditional Régua sweets.
On the last Sunday of September 27, this Historical Train will make another journey, exclusively for health professionals. With this journey, CP intends to recognise and thank to health professionals for their remarkable and essential role in combating the Covid-19 pandemic.
It is mandatory to wear a mask on board during the entire journey.
