CP volunteers help out AMI

X-rays, screening and good causes!

A team of 15 volunteers from CP’s corporate volunteer programme responded to the appeal launched by AMI – Assistência Médica Internacional (International Medical Assistance).

The goal? To recycle old X-rays and prevent this waste from entering landfills, thereby protecting the soil and aquifers from the harmful effects of silver and other heavy metals.

The CP team joined more than a hundred other volunteers from various companies, and the results were extraordinary:

• 15 bags of X-rays equivalent to 15 tonnes of recycled material
• Funding for 3,750 meals, contributing directly to the fight against food insecurity in our 9 Porta Amiga Centres;
• We diverted 60 cubic metres of waste from landfill

This impact represents an environmental victory and also a direct contribution to social support, reinforcing the value of voluntary action in building a fairer and more conscious community.
