CP Digital Card – What is it for?
The CP Digital Card replaces the physical card and allows you to:
- Purchase, reload, and travel with the Green Rail Pass, and reserve a seat on Intercidades trains.
- View other travel tickets loaded on the CP Card, noting that they cannot be validated through this method.
By requesting it online or at the ticket office.
The following options are available:
- Physical card: always includes the digital version;
- Digital card: you may choose only the digital version (available in the CP App).
- Cost: €0.50 (valid only for the Green Rail Pass).
The CP Digital Card will be accessible in the CP App under Wallet > Mobility Cards, provided that the email used in the request matches the one registered in your myCP account.
Yes. The physical CP Card will automatically be available in the CP App under Wallet > Mobility Cards, provided that the email used in the card request is the same as the one registered in your myCP account.
No. For the Digital CP Card work correctly, the email associated with the CP Card and the email of the myCP account must be the same.
You should change the email of the CP Card:
- Go to a CP ticket office and request the change of the email associated with your CP Card.
Or change the email of the myCP account:
- Access your Customer Area > My Data and delete the current account;
- Or send an email requesting deletion to CP’s Data Protection Officer.
- Afterwards, you can create a new myCP account using the same email as the one used when requesting the CP Card.
Please note that creating a new account implies the loss of all previous account data, including purchases and support requests.
Yes. On board, during inspection, whenever requested, you must present a valid photo ID in addition to the CP Digital Card.
Yes, because the CP Digital Card is only valid if it can be presented on your mobile device.
Your phone must have enough battery to display the card throughout the journey.
Lack of mobile network may also prevent validation.
To avoid issues, always ensure you can present the CP Digital Card when requested; otherwise, you will be considered a passenger without a valid ticket.
CP is not responsible for your phone running out of battery or lacking network coverage.
