Half-price children’s tickets

Take the kids out for half price.

Children up to the age of three (inclusive), when accompanied by adults, are entitled to travel free of charge, provided they do not occupy a seat.
If they are aged between 4 and 12 inclusive, they have the right to half fare, and a separate seat.
On the Celta international service, children get a 40% discount.
Note: Alfa Pendular and Intercidades prices are rounded up to the nearest 50 cents.

To travel for free and to obtain a discount that requires proof of age, the official identification must always be presented at the ticket office and on the train.

Scans/photos or simple photocopies are not accepted, unless duly authenticated by Parish Councils, CTT - Correios de Portugal, Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Lawyers or Solicitors.

Documents submitted on the id.gov.pt App are also accepted as official. For verification, the Customer must give CP staff access to the device, and the necessary electronic means must be available on site, namely that the device has internet access.
