Festival of the crosses

The first of the great pilgrimages in the Minho region is back, with the Festival of the Crosses marking the cycle of festivities that continues until the end of the summer.
Barcelos is once again hosting one of Minho's most famous festivals and one of its most popular and typical pilgrimages.
This year's edition features various cultural and recreational initiatives, among which the tradition of natural flower carpets stands out.
Travel by train to Barcelos and take part in this great festival of Portuguese popular culture.

Barcelos station is 1 km from the city centre and the places where the event's activities take place.
Seats on the Minho Line will be increased on the following days and trains:
- 1st May: trains IR830, IR831, IR853, IR856;
- 3 May: trains IR830, IR853.Celta international service
The Celta international service trains 420 and 423 will make an extraordinary stop in Barcelos on 1 and 3 May.
Regional and InterRegional
Tickets available from CP ticket offices, Online ticket office, CP App or on board the train when boarding at stations without a ticket office. Payment on board can only be made in cash or with a CPmais card.
Celta ( Porto-Vigo) International Train
Tickets available from CP ticket offices, with international sales or on the Renfe website. You must buy the ticket to Nine, which allows you to travel to/from Barcelos Station.
