As a celebration of the grape harvest, there is nothing better that to learn all about the tradition and take part in wine-making in the Douro region. You are guaranteed to have a good harvest, lots of fun and festivities on a stunning journey between Oporto and Pinhão.

One-day programme travelling on a special train with 1st and 2nd class carriages between Oporto Campanhã/Pinhão and Régua/Oporto Campanhã, leaving at 8:00 and returning at 20:32.
Arrival at Pinhão Station, transfer by bus to Quinta da Avessada, with popular music and tasting some regional delicacies such as the traditional bread and meat cake.
If you want to participate in the grape harvest, buckets and scissors will be provided and you will be given a brief summary about the grapes, the region's history and some traditions related to the harvest.
Then you will have a regional lunch (cod fishcakes, a selection of assorted sausages and 'trigo de Favaios' (local bread speciality), ploughman's soup with beans and cabage and mixed grill with baked potatoes and cabbage and dessert (buffet of regional sweets and seasonal fruit, coffee and homemade jams). Drinks: water and red or white wine D.O.C. Help yourself as often as you wish.
In the afternoon visit to the celklars and early grape treading (“lagarada”), with the entertainment of traditional Douro singers followed by Moscatel tasting in Enoteca.
At the end of the day, return by bus to Régua Station where you will have the special train to Oporto Campanhã.
Includes: journey on special train, transfers, tasting of some delicacies on arrival at the farm, lunch, entertainment, visit to the winepresses and start of early grape treading (“lagarada”), Moscatel taste in Enoteca and personal accident insurance.
