MiraDouro train runs all year round from Oporto São Bento, Régua and Pocinho.

MiraDouro is composed of the 1400 series diesel locomotive and Schindler Tourist carriages. It has toilets available.

The Schindler carriages - produced in the 1940s by the Swiss manufacturer Schindler and put into service on the national railway network between 1949 and 1977 - have recently been restored and their panoramic windows can be opened during the journey. It runs daily between Oporto São Bento/Campanhã and Pocinho and back.

Take your bike in MiraDouro regional train.

Bicycles and scooters transport are free but before boarding, you should contact the onboard supervisor to secure the transport since it is subject to limitations of available space and type of rolling stock used.

Trains number 861, 865, 866, 869, 868, 876, 21860 and 21861 allow to transport up to 12 bicycles. The remaining Miradouro trains have 2 places for bicycles.

 

Route suggestions

Sabor Greenway

With 34 kilometers, this route results from the conversion of the Pocinho-Carviçais section of the old Sabor Line into cyclepath. The route is equipped with public lightning in the urban sections at Moncorvo, Larinho, Carvalhal and Carviçais as well as with signaling and street furniture. The rehabilitation of buildings and stations allow that they now can be used as support and shelter infrastructures to users.

Between Torre de Moncorvo and Carviçais its possible to enjoy the landscape over the Baixo Sabor Valley and Reboredo Mountain. From Torre de Moncorvo to Pocinho, users can enjoy the beautiful scenario of the Douro Valley. Points of interest are the Douro International Nature Park to the East, Baixo Sabor Valley (Sabor Lakes) to the North, Upper Douro Valley (Alto Douro Vinhateiro, World Heritage) to the West and the Prehistoric Rock Art Sites in the Côa Valley to the South.

Paredes city Cycle Lane

Route that goes along the city of Paredes and which allows users to move through several places and enjoy several architectural and cultural points of interest. With 22 kilometers extension is accessible by train from the Paredes station in the Douro Line.

Ribeirinha Cycle Path

Located at Régua in the Alto Douro Wine Region - classified as UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001 -, the 2,2 kilometers cycle route goes along the Douro river waterfront in the city centre. It allows users to enjoy a landscape of great scenic and environmental value as well as several industrial and historical heritage such as Régua city center, Casa do Douro, The Metalic Bridge, Douro Museum, the riverside area, Junqueira Pier, Cruzeiro Chapel and the Régua Railway Station and its Freight Warehouse. Bicycles can be parked at the end of the route and at Régua railway station.
