Grape harvest festival by train

  • The one-day programme, with a trip on a special train with 1st and 2nd class carriages on the Porto Campanhã/Pinhão and Régua/Porto Campanhã routes, departing at 8 a.m. and returning at 8.26 p.m.
  • After a bus transfer from Pinhão Station to Quinta da Avessada, visitors will be welcomed with popular music and a tasting of some regional delicacies, such as traditional bread and meat cake.
  • Then the harvest begins. Buckets and shears will be provided, and then the grape varieties, the region's history, and some traditions related to the harvest will be explained.
  • This will be followed by a regional lunch, consisting of starters (cod fritters, assorted sausages and local bread), the main course (hearty farmer's soup and roast veal) and dessert. Drinks (water, wine and coffee) are included.
  • In the afternoon, a visit to the presses and the start of the pressing, followed by a tasting of Moscatel wine.
  • Return by bus to Régua station, where the special train will leave for Porto Campanhã.

Includes: Travel by special train, transfers, tasting of some delicacies on arrival at the estate, lunch, entertainment, visit to the presses and start of the press, documented Moscatel wine tasting and personal accident insurance.
