Travelling on the Douro Historical Train is to take a trip back in time. The journey follows the banks of the River Douro. The 5 historical carriages drawn by a Diesel engine painted in the original livery, run between Régua and Tua on a journey into the past, marked by the beauty of the landscape classified as UNESCO World Heritage.
One-day programme, departing from Régua at 3.30 pm and returning at 6.26 pm, with a stop in Pinhão, continuing to Tua and back.
Guests on the Douro Historic Train will be welcomed 30 minutes before departure, with regional entertainment.
The entertainment continues on board, with music and songs typical of the region, a glass of Port – ‘Porto Ferreira’, sweets from Régua, water and gifts from the region.
At Pinhão Station, you can admire the famous tile panels that decorate the station walls, depicting the landscape and life of the people of the Douro region, with images of Port production, grape harvests and wine transport in rabelo boats.
