Travelling on the Douro Historical Train is to take a trip back in time. The journey follows the banks of the River Douro. The steam locomotive and the 5 historical carriages run between Régua and Tua on a unique journey into the past, marked by the beauty of the landscape classified as UNESCO World Heritage.

The one-day programme leaves Régua at 15:28 and returns at 18:26 with a stop in Pinhão, continuing to Tua and back.
Passengers on the Douro historical train are welcomed 30 minutes before departure with musical entertainment, a glass of Port, water and local sweets.
There is onboard entertainment with traditional regional music and singers.
At Pinhão Station, you can watch the CP 0186 steam locomotive, built in 1925, filled with water. You can also admire the famous tile panels decorating the station's walls, depicting the landscape and life of the people of the Douro, with images of Port production, grape picking and carrying wine in Rabelo boats. On the return trip, take the opportunity to visit the Wine House located in the station building, where you can buy typical products of the region.
At Tua Station, while the steam locomotive gets turned around, you can relax, admire the landscape and visit an exhibition of regional products. You can also visit the Tua Valley Interpretative Centre, where passengers get cut-price admission on the Douro historical train.
