Rock in Rio - special trains

Travel free on the Lisbon urban trains with Rock in Rio ticket.

Rock in Rio is back in Lisbon! Parque da Bela Vista on 23, 24, 29 and 30 June.

Make the most of our CP ROCKCard, a pass that includes admission to the venue, the train journey and CARRIS bus transfer.

Buy you CP ROCKCard now, or an all-in-one CP Northern line + CARRIS bus transfer if you already have your admission ticket to the event.

There are going to be special Northern line trains in the early hours after each day’s concerts, from Oriente station in Lisbon to Oporto Campanhã. There are also going to be special Sintra and Cascais line trains from Lisbon Oriente / Roma Areeiro to Sintra and from Cais do Sodré to Cascais.
If you show your Rock in Rio ticket you can travel for free on the Lisbon urban trains.

Use our trains to get to Parque da Bela Vista, the Rock in Rio venue.

If you are coming in on the Sintra/Azambuja line, get off at Lisbon Oriente and catch the Metro – Red Line to get to the City of Rock – Belavista. If you get off at Roma-Areeiro, Parque da Belavista is just a 20-minute walk away.

If you come in on the Cascais line you can get the Metro, Green Line to Alameda then change to the Red Line to Belavista or you can take the Green Line to Areeiro, which is a 20-minute walk to the venue.

If you come in on an Intercidades train to Lisbon Oriente, catch the Carris bus no. 794 to get to the venue then the exclusive bus for CP passengers on the return when the concert on the World Stage ends.

The CP ROCKCard includes:

  • Admission to 1 day of Rock in Rio of your choice
  • A 2nd class return journey on Intercidades, upon presenting this card at a CP ticket office
    • Outward: to Lisbon Oriente from June 21st to 30th;
    • Return: on the special train in the early hours after the chosen event day, or on another Intercidades train, if the special train tickets are sold out.  
  • A return ticket on the Carris bus
    • Outward on the regular bus no. 794, between Lisbon Oriente and Bela Vista;

Lisbon Urban Trains

Early hours of 24, 25, 30 June and 1 July:

  • 2h40 - Lisbon Oriente / 2h47 - Roma-Areeiro > Sintra (stopping in all stations);

For the Sintra Line, you can catch the trains from Oriente station (Metro connection – Red line) or from Roma-Areeiro station, which is a 20-minute walk away from Parque da Bela Vista.

  • 3h00 - Cais do Sodré > Cascais (stopping in all stations).

For the Cascais Line, you can catch the trains from the Cais do Sodré Station through the connection with the Metro, Bela Vista Station, Red Line, where you can change to the Green Line at the Alameda Station, or, alternately, you can travel directly on the Green Line at the Areeiro Station, which is 20 minutes on foot from the venue.

Intercidades, Regional and InterRegional

Make the most of the 30% discount in any Intercidades trains, including the special train, or in Regional/InterRegional trains of the scheduled service, upon presenting the event ticket.

This discount is valid for return tickets to the Lisbon Oriente Station.

Outward journey from June 21st to 30th on the scheduled service and the return journey on the special train during the early hours after the day of the event, or on another Intercidades train or a Regional/InterRegional train of the scheduled service for passengers whose destination station is not included in the special train route, or if the special train tickets are sold out.  

You can choose to buy the ticket with or without transfer (Carris: Lisbon Oriente/Parque da Bela Vista and back).

The tickets are only available from the CP ticket offices, or on board if the station of departure does not have any sales points.

Lisbon Urban Trains

You can travel for free on the Lisbon urban trains if you show your Rock in Rio ticket. Show your admission ticket at the access gates and on board the train. Valid for scheduled trains and special trains from Cais do Sodré to Cascais and from Oriente / Roma-Areeiro to Sintra.

We are going to run special trains at the end of each day’s concerts from Cais do Sodré to Cascais and from Oriente / Roma-Areeiro to Sintra. Roma-Areeiro station is a 20-minute walk from the venue.

Oporto Urban Trains

Make the most of the special €2 return tickets on the Oporto urban trains as an add-on to your Northern line journey. Valid for journeys on the day and day after the event, depending on the date of the Intercidades ticket. Must be bought when you buy or book your Intercidades train journey as part of the CP ROCKCard.

CP ROCKCard: From Ticketline or from the Rock in Rio website up to 10 days before the journey date, depending on the date of the event. The journeys have to be booked 60 days before the date of the outward journey, 24 hours after the purchase of the CP ROCKCard and during working days. 

All-in-one CP + Carris ticket: Ticketline up to 10 days before the journey date, depending on the date of the event. The journeys have to be booked 60 days before the date of the outward journey, 24 hours after the purchase of the All-in-one CP + Carris card and during working days. 

Intercidades, Regional and InterRegional

Available from the Online Ticket OfficeApp CPCP ticket offices and other sales points, or on board if the departure station does not have any sales points. The payment on board can only be made in cash or with the CPmais card.

The 30% discount is only available from the CP ticket offices or on board.

Lisbon Urban Trains: If you want to travel on the Lisbon urban trains, you just have to show your Rock in Rio admission ticket.

Special €2 Oporto urban train ticket: CP ticket offices (as long as it is an add-on to an Intercidades journey).
