Porto's Teatro Nacional São João is classified as a national monument and is one of the most influential cultural entities in the country. It offers a diversified programme with texts by classical playwrights, which intersect with up-and-coming contemporary national and international playwrights.
Most of the plays are subtitled in English so foreigners can also enjoy the TNSJ performances, including those at Teatro Carlos Alberto (TeCA) and the Mosteiro de São Bento da Vitória.

- 30% off all performances put on by the TNSJ.
The discount is offered if you can show a train ticket for up to five days before or after the performance date.
Group travel discounts if booked in advance and under conditions to be agreed.
Oporto Urban Trains:
- €2 return tickets for every person in the group;
- Available for group of 10 or more;
- Book in advance with the Oporto Urban Train group service;.
- Discounts apply to scheduled trains only.

- Teatro Carlos Alberto is about an 8-minute walk.
