Vouga Historical Train - CP restores two more historical carriages from the 20th Century | Carnival and Easter

The Historical Train, pulled by the Steam Locomotive, will circulate again on the Vouga Line, during Carnival and Easter, through the line between Aveiro and Macinhata do Vouga.

During the Carnival period, journeys take place on February 22 and 23. On these dates, the historical composition, pulled by the steam locomotive E214 and formed by three carriages dated from 1908, 1913 and 1925 will be reinforced with another historical carriage, built in 1931 by Officine Ferroviarie Meridionali SA.

The narrow gauge “Neapolitan”, as it is commonly known, was parked in Senada do Vouga and was recently restored by CP, in the Contumil workshop.
Thus, the offer of the Historical Train, on February 22 and 23 now totals 174 seats, as the “Neapolitan” passenger hall has 30 seats.

During the Easter Period, the Vouga Historical Train will bring more news: the integration of another historical carriage in its composition is planned, which was built in the General Workshops of Barreiro in 1908 and is currently being restored.

CP thus continues to focus in the segment of leisure and tourism journeys, with emphasis on historical trains, contributing to the development of economic activity in the region.
