CP supports university residences programme - Affordable Student Accommodation Programme

CP has joined the programme to expand university residences, making the former premises of the Old Operational Dormitory of Campolide in Lisbon available for this purpose. The signature of the management and operation concession contract took place today in a ceremony attended by the Chairman of CP's Board of Directors, Pedro Moreira and the Dean of ISCTE, Maria de Lurdes Rodrigues.

Under the contract, the concession of management and operation of the Dormitory begins on the delivery date by CP to ISCTE of the refurbished building. It will last for 30 years.

These facilities will now be subject to rehabilitation works, fully funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) under the Student Accommodation at Affordable Cost Programme, which is integrated into the National Plan for Higher Education Accommodation (PNAES) and whose promotion is the responsibility of the National Agency Erasmus + Education and Training.

After the conclusion of the works, this space will provide 26 individual rooms with private bathrooms. Two of the rooms are adapted for disabled people. The project involves an investment of €850,000.

We expect that all the facilities will be ready to receive students at the beginning of the 2024/2025 academic year.

This application and respective approval allow the requalification of old CP buildings and, in the scope of the social responsibility component of the company, responds to the students' needs and narrows the institutional and cooperation relations between CP and ISCTE.

The Affordable Student Accommodation Programme aims to provide 26,000 beds by the end of 2026.
