National train pass on sale now

The new CP national train pass has been on sale since 1 July. Valid for use from 1 August, the pass has a fixed monthly price of €49 and can be requested at any CP ticket office.

This pass will cover all journeys on regional trains throughout Portugal (not applicable to inter-regional and urban trains), regardless of the point of departure or destination. This new feature provides passengers with the possibility of travelling without timetable limitations or restrictions of high demand periods, offering an economical and environmentally friendly transport option, allowing pass holders a convenient and flexible way to travel throughout the country.

Pedro Moreira, Chairman of CP, said that "this pass is the result of the committed work, over several months, of the CP team that was behind the development of this new product, believing that this measure is a significant advance in CP's commitment to foster sustainable mobility, encouraging the use of collective transport and promoting a mode of  transport with less environmental impact, helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combatting climate change."

In addition, the pass represents a crucial action for territorial cohesion. Pedro Moreira noted that "by providing accessible mobility in all regions of the country, CP is promoting equal opportunities, facilitating the flow of people, and contributing to a balanced socio-economic development".

The pass cannot be used in conjunction with other discounts.
