CP - Comboios de Portugal will reissue the Rodão Circuit, a one-day programme combining train journeys, leisure and gastronomy of the region of Beira Baixa.
The circuit starts on the Intercidades train departing from Lisbon Santa Apolónia at 8:15 and arriving at Rodão at around 10:42.
Upon arrival at the station, the participants will travel by bus to the “Vila Portuguesa” Restaurant for a welcome reception, followed by a boat trip, where lunch will be served. While on boat, you can enjoy the ‘Portas de Rodão’ National Natural Monument and the famous colony of griffon vulture.
Returning to Vila Velha de Rodão, the afternoon suggestions include a guided tour to the Mill of Varas de Rodão – for the purchase of regional products – and to the CIAR (Centre for Interpretation of Rock Art of Vale do Tejo and the Museum of Archeology) and, already in Rodão, a snack, at the ‘Vila Portuguesa’ Restaurant.
The Intercidades train departs to Lisbon from the Rodão station at 20:07.
The programme prices for adults and seniors vary between 50.50 and 43.50 euros, while for children they vary between 33 and 27 euros.
