CP Grape-picking Festival on 23 and 30 September and 7 October

CP - Comboios de Portugal is once again running a special “Grape-picking Festival” programme in 2017, scheduled for Saturdays 23 and 30 September and 7 October.

The festival focuses on socialising in a party atmosphere and involves activities connected with wine making. The programme begins with a special train journey leaving from Oporto Campanha at 08:00 and it arrives in Pinhão at 10:25.

The participants are then taken to Quinta da Avessada by bus for Moscatel wine tasting and to try some local delicacies before having a guided tour round the estate.

After a traditional lunch, they head off for the presses to celebrate the grape-treading to the sound of traditional songs.

The programme ends in the cellars with a documented tasting of liqueur wines.

The special train returns from Régua at 18:18 and gets back to Oporto at 20:20.

The 1st class programme costs €72.50 for adults and €32.50 for children (4-12 inclusive), while in 2nd class it costs €69.50 for adults and €29.50 for children.
