Derailment of Beira Alta line Intercidades train

Following this morning’s derailment at 8:40 near Coval tunnel at Mortágua, CP - Comboios de Portugal confirms there are no injuries and that all 71 passengers have been put onto replacement buses.

The Beira Alta line is still cut and the infrastructure manager is working to clear the debris from the landslide so trains can start operating again. CP is providing alternative bus transport between Santa Comba Dão and Mortágua for all trains on this line.

CP regrets any inconvenience and is striving to minimise the effects of these disturbances on its passengers’ journeys.
