… a leisure programme dedicated to the Beira Baixa region, which includes train journeys, cultural visits and local gastronomy.
This year, in addition to the 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th of June (Saturdays), the programme also takes place on the 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th of the same month (Wednesdays).
The participants depart from the Lisbon Santa Apolónia Station at 08h15, on the Intercidades Train, to Castelo Branco, which is the station where the welcome reception takes place.
The guided tour to the Traditional Cheese Factory at Quinta do Pomar and the trip to Serra da Gardunha to enjoy the view over Cova da Beira are the scheduled activities for the morning, which ends with the lunch at the typical restaurant “Dom Vicente”.
As to the afternoon, the participants will visit Quinta do Pombal, in Aldeia Nova do Cabo, for the traditional tasting and purchase of the popular local cherries.
On the way back, the participants depart from Fundão, on the Intercidades Train, at 18h46.
The price of the programme, which includes the train journeys, lunch and road transfers, varies between 54 euros for adults and 38 euros for children.
