Within the scope of the COVID-19 Contingency Plan of CP – Comboios de Portugal, the Company defined working scenarios appropriate to the pandemic evolution.
At the moment, there is an overall reduction in the demand for travel in CP of around 60%.
In order to meet the population’s real mobility needs, CP decided to adjust its offer, implementing the Scenario II of its Contingency Plan. The implementation of this scenario results in a reduction in the number of trains to be carried out.
CP makes approximately 1,400 rail connections daily, a number that, from tomorrow - March 18 - will be reduced to around 1,050 connections per day. Thus, 75% of CP’s regular train offer remains.
With this plan, the CP maintains the mobility of citizens by rail.
