BABELL, City of Books

Take the train to Porto.

Porto will host BABELL - City of Books from 24 to 29 June, one of the year’s most prominent literary and cultural events promoted by Fundação Livraria Lello and co-produced by Porto Municipality. The event brings together internationally renowned writers and leading figures from other artistic fields linked to the written word, establishing itself as a unique space for gathering, reflection and cultural exchange.

Access to the event is gained by purchasing books from participating bookshops and second-hand bookshops across the city, through an innovative model unparalleled worldwide. Inspired by the iconic Livraria Lello, this event simultaneously promotes access to culture and boosts the local book trade, turning every book purchased into a ticket for the event. Reservations can be made on BABELL website.

Travel by train to Porto and take advantage of discounts and the special ticket for Porto urban trains. A convenient, sustainable and economical way to take part in one of the year’s most memorable cultural events.

Porto São Bento Station (Porto Urban Trains and InterRegional) is the closest to the event.

Intercidades, Regional and Interregional

30% off return journeys to Porto from 24 June to 1 July if you show the event ticket together with personal identification when you buy your train ticket and to the ticket inspector on the train.

Cannot be combined with other discounts or special offers.

These tickets can be changed for the period during which the discount is valid and refunded in accordance with the conditions in force.

Porto Urban Trains

Special €3 return ticket per person on Porto Urban Trains, departing from any station on the network and travelling to Porto São Bento Station. Discount valid from 12:00 on 24 June until the end of 30 June.

Intercidades, Regional and Interregional

Available from CP ticket offices or on the train when boarding at stations without ticket offices. Payment on board can only be made in cash or with a CPmais card.

Available from CP ticket offices or on the train when boarding at stations without ticket offices. Payment on board can only be made in cash.
