Guimarães cable car

Travel with your family or friends and get cut price tickets for the cable car.

The Guimarães cable car was probably the first one to start working in Portugal, on 11 March 1995, and runs between Guimarães and the Penha mountain where there is a sanctuary dedicated to Nossa Senhora do Carmo da Penha – where there are restaurants, bars, mini-golf, bike trails walking paths and a magnificent camp site.

  • Price and bookings to be agreed directly with the Porto urban train group service - gruposcppt@cp.pt, depending on the day and time. *

Groups of 15 or more

  • Journey price: €3.00 return a head (adult or child).
  • Journeys any day of the week. Any time at the weekends and most trains during the week except for some rush hour services (contact the group service for further details).
  • Book in advance with the Porto urban train group service.*

* Advance booking times:
3 working days for groups of 15 to 50 people.
5 working days for groups of 50 to 100 people.
10 working days for groups of over 100 people

The cable car tickets are sold at the Porto urban train ticket offices.
