Fares and Validity

InterRail Global Pass (InterRail Global)

This InterRail ticket is valid in these 30 countries: France, Germany, Great Britain, Norway, Sweden, Austria, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, Finland, Greece, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Croatia, Denmark, Hungary, Poland, Romenia, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey and Portugal. It is also valid on the ATTICA and MINOAN ferries that sail between Italy and Greece.

Conditions

InterRail Global Pass (InterRail Global)ing to InterRail community counties except for the country they live in.

Portuguese residents can buy tickets to and from a border station or Lisbon, Oporto and Faro stations that serve the International Airports with a 50% discount.

Validity

The InterRail Global ticket can be bought for sequential days for:

- 15 days
- 22 days
- 1 month

Or “Flexi” tickets valid for:
- 5  days in 10
- 10 days in 22

Note: Children of 4 to 11 years old (inclusive) pay half the adult fare in 1st and 2nd class.

InterRail One Country Pass 

The InterRail One Country Pass lets you travel freely on the railways in one single country and is available for all the member countries except:

- Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro.

Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg are grouped together in the “Benelux Pass”, that covers the three countries.

The pass for Greece may include the Superfast Ferries and Blue Star Ferries that are owned by ATTICA, sailing between Italy and Greece and this ticket is called “Greece Plus".

The InterRail One Country Pass only covers the journeys in the countries and rail companies they were issued for and do not confer any benefits in other countries.

The InterRail Portugal pass cannot be bought for residents in Portugal.

Validity

The InterRail One Country Pass is valid for more flexible style of travel and covers the following number of days:
- 3 days in a month;
- 4 days in a month;
- 6 days in a month;
- 8 days in a month.

Special conditions for the “Flexi” passes

If the journey starts on a direct night train that leaves after 19h00, it must show the following day but includes the part of the journey between 19h00 and 24h00.

Whenever the pas is used for a night ferry crossing the holder can put either the date the voyage began or the date it finished.

The journeys cannot start before 00h00 on the first day the pass is valid and have to finish before midnight on the last day it is valid

 

 


Seat reservations and supplements

Some train and boats have special regulations and require you to pay supplements for things such as:

- Seat reservations;

- Use of sleeping places (bunks, beds or  sleeperettes) on the trains;

- Use of cabins, bunks and reclining seats on the ferries;

- Supplement for the ferries during certain periods;

- Port taxes;
- Etc.


Where can you buy the tickets?

The ticket can be purchased up to two months before you start your journey from the  Travel Agents* or from one of the International Ticket Sales Points.
