CP is going to start running two new Alfa Pendular trains on the Northern Line, as of next Sunday 12 March 2006 between the country's two main cities. . The new Lisbon/Oporto connection will leave Lisbon first thing in the morning (Santa Apolónia at 05h55/ Estação do Oriente at 06h04 – except Sundays) and back down from Oporto there will be a new Alfa Pendular service leaving Oporto-Campanhã at 21h15 (except Saturdays). These two new services add to the other services at the beginning and the end of the day since CP has recently introduced Alfa Pendular services leaving Lisbon Santa Apolónia at20h55 (21h04 at the Oriente station) and from Oporto at 06h15, meaning that our customers can spend more time at their destinations. There will now be a total of 11 connections a day in each direction. In order to promote the new timetables, CP is offering new experiences on the trains in partnership with the company “A Vida é Bela”, for a two-month period. On the new morning service from Lisbon, passengers will have access to a hairdressing and make-up service (on alternative days) and a massage and relaxation service on the end of the day service from Oporto.
